D Term Rhythm

Quote of the day: You are a struggle in my daily life. -Paul

Song of the day: Ordinary Day by Vanessa Carlton

I found the chicken on the spit!! Now it's 4 pirate duckies around a campfire with a roasting chicken. yay! Picture courtesy of Colette.

What I haven't found yet is the rhythm of D term. Water polo starts Friday and lifting starts next week. Swimming should too but I'm not sure when it will be. Anyway I'm still confused without swim practice every day. I don't know what to do with myself. Pickup games of soccer and frisbee have been fun but sometimes I can't go. I don't have a schedule for working yet, either. Anyway it's been kind of relaxing and kind of weird. Hopefully next week I'll have a better idea of what's going on. On the upside, I really like all my classes...

MY MACROECONOMICS PROFESSOR IS AWESOME. I had class with her on Tuesday and I really enjoyed. She keeps the mode light and fun. I think it's going to be a great term as far as classes are concerned. :)

Also, I have Wednesday's off. Which is amazing. This week I just kind of chilled out and relaxed. It was nice. I went to visit Karla at Belmont and helped her with her homework. Then I worked for Paul for a while and later watched a film about Louis Armstrong for my jazz history class.

Tuesday wasn't too bad either. Chase gave a presentation that related math to chemistry and it was pretty interesting. A few of the swimmers went to go see it and support him.

Today was pretty chill. I had a meeting with Paul to discuss my off season training. I have to work on my fly and free technique when I'm tired, and also backstroke. Apparently it goes with butterfly. I'm lifting all summer, in addition to running and doing lots of abs. LOTS of abs. And swimming a bit, of course. My (by "my" I mean "Paul told me my") goal for running is to go 5 miles in under an hour. Preferably 45 minutes... It will take a lot of work but I think it can happen. I have 6 months to work on it.

Last night I was walking around with Lee and I noticed this banner.

It says:

"Robert H. Goddard
Celebrating 100 years
WPI Class of 1908"

Fail, WPI. It's now 2009. 101st anniversary of Goddard graduating. Don't get stuck in the past!!!!
